In Aug. of 2020, Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) entered into a firearms investigation. This investigation was initiated after two firearms registered to an Airdrie male were located in Winnipeg, one of which had been used in a criminal offence. CRU executed a search warrant of a residence which resulted in six Criminal Code charges.
A 30-year-old male of Airdrie, Alta. has been charged with the following offences:
- Failing to report lost/stolen firearm (x5)
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
He has been released from custody on conditions and will appear in Airdrie provincial court on Sept. 24, 2020.
