On Dec. 5, 2019, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a bus at the intersection of Confederation Way and Brett Drive.
The male driver of the bus was travelling westbound on Confederation Way when it made a left turn onto Brett Drive and collided with a pedestrian. The driver and passengers of the bus were not injured during this collision.
The 51-year-old female pedestrian from Fort McMurray, Alta. was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP continue to investigate the collision. The name of the deceased will not be released.
