Woman dies in collision on Highway 12

Shortly before 4 p.m. on November 2, a collision occurred between two vehicles on Hwy. 12 in the community of Aldersville. The driver of a Chrysler sedan was attempting to pass other vehicles and struck an oncoming Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen was occupied by two people. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported via LifeFlight to hospital. The passenger, a 71-year-old woman from Kentville, died at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler was taken to hospital with injuries. She was alone in the vehicle.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was called to the scene to examine it for evidence, resulting in the closure of Hwy. 12 for several hours. It was re-opened at 11 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
