Update - Carberry RCMP make arrest in shooting
In the early morning hours of August 30, 2019, a 45-year-old male was shot outside a rural residence in the RM of Cornwallis, Manitoba. The victim was transported to hospital by a 36-year-old male and a 23-year-old female.
Further investigation led officers to issue a warrant of arrest on August 31 for Nicholas Peters, the 36-year-old male who transported the victim to the hospital on charges of Discharge Firearm with Intent, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Careless Use of a Firearm.
On September 4, 2019, Nicholas Peters turned himself in to police. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court in Brandon today.
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.

Carberry RCMP searching for suspect wanted in shooting
At approximately 6:50 am, on August 30, 2019, Carberry RCMP responded to the Brandon Hospital for a report that a 45-year-old male was admitted with gun shot injuries.
Investigators are searching for NICHOLAS PETERS in relation to this shooting. He has been charged with:
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Careless use of a firearm
Discharge firearm with intent
Nicholas Peters, 36, is described as 6' tall, 250 pounds, with brown hair, and hazel eyes. He is from Brandon, Manitoba.
He may be driving a white Dodge pick-up truck, with Manitoba licence plate number: KDX 716.
