Traffic Stop results in recovery of stolen vehicle; 19-year-old driver facing multiple charges

On November 15, 2019, RCMP were on patrol near the St. Anthony Regional Airport and observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. Police conducted a traffic stop and discovered the vehicle had been stolen.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from Flower's Cove, was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. He was also ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for exceeding the speed limit by 51 km/hr and his drivers licence was suspended for seven days. He was released from custody and will appear in court on a future date.
