The RCMP are investigating the suspicious death of a person following the search of a burned out vehicle on Dec. 5, 2019.
At 3 p.m., the Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a previous complaint of an abandoned vehicle. Members located the remains of a human inside the vehicle, and the RCMP Major Crimes Unit was deployed to take carriage of the investigation.
The identity of the deceased person has not been confirmed. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
