RCMP arrests man in Bay Roberts for dangerous driving offences

While conducting traffic enforcement in Bay Roberts during the noon hour on December 19, 2019, RCMP Traffic Services East attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver failed to stop and fled through the town at a high rate of speed.

In the interest of public safety, police did not pursue the vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was located in a secluded area. The driver, an 18-year-old Upper Island Cove man, was arrested and charged with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. His license was suspended and vehicle seized.

The RCMP is committed to ensuring public safety on our roadways. Police will continue heightened enforcement during the busy holiday season.
