On Wednesday morning, July 17, 2019, Kings District RCMP conducted pro-active joint enforcement check-stops with Highway Safety and Conservation Officers covering various aspects of road safety and compliance.

The enforcement initiatives took place in several locations in Kings County and resulted in numerous summary offences tickets being issued under Highway Traffic Act.

In addition to enforcement, police officers and provincial government compliance officers were joined by members of the GoldWing Road Rider Association for a public awareness event in Three Rivers. Drivers travelling through the check-stops were given a brochure reminding them about motorcycle safety on our local highways and provided simple tips on ways to make all travel safer.

Those involved in the initiative commend all of the drivers who showed patience at the check-stops and those who regularly comply with the laws set out to keep recreational, commercial, and farm vehicles, motorcyle, bike, and pedestrian traffic out of harms way. Follow the laws and the rules of the road and keep PEI roads safe.
