Portage La Prairie RCMP searching for suspect wanted in multiple assaults

On September 1, 2019, at approximately 11:05 pm, Portage La Prairie RCMP responded to an assault with a weapon on Spruce Bay in Portage La Prairie. A 17-year-old male used bear mace to spray several people and then fled.

As officers were investigating the incident, additional 911 calls were received advising that the same suspect was involved with assaulting people with bear mace at a second residence on 6th Street NE in Portage La Prairie.

Police are searching for a 17-year-old from Portage La Prairie. He is described as 5'5", 135 lbs, slender build, with black hair and brown eyes.

He is wanted for Assault with a Weapon x 5, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited Weapon, Weapons Possession contrary to an order x 4, Mischief and Fail to Comply with undertaking x 3.

He is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
