Placentia RCMP reminds motorists of dangers in passing school buses

During the past two weeks, Placentia RCMP received several complaints of approaching vehicles passing a school bus while the flashing red lights were activated.

Police advise this dangerous practice endangers the lives of school aged children and is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act. Fines can be assessed up to $1200 and the ticket comes with six demerit points.

If you see a vehicle passing a school bus, please obtain a licence plate number and description of the driver and contact your local RCMP.
