Man charged with additional offences in seizure of drugs and firearms

A 26-year-old man, originally from the Woodstock First Nation, but who was recently living in the Fredericton and Moncton areas, has been charged with several firearms offences in connection with the seizure of drugs believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine and prohibited firearms during a joint police forces investigation last week.

Jesse Todd Logue appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on September 3, 2019, and was charged with:

  • Possession of prohibited firearms without a licence, together with readily accessible ammunition
  • Possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, together with readily accessible ammunition
  • Possession of firearms without a licence
  • Possession of firearms while prohibited
  • Possession of a firearm knowing that the serial number had been removed

He was previously charged on August 29 with two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. He will remain in custody and is scheduled to return to court on September 17 at 1:30 p.m.

On August 28, 2019, eight people aged 17 to 49 were arrested following the execution of five search warrants at residences in Moncton, Steeves Mountain and Douglas, N.B.

During the searches police seized quantities of drugs believed to be methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as several firearms and cash.

A 25-year-old man from Moncton, a 29-year-old man from Riverview, and a 20-year-old woman and 49-year-old man, both from Maugerville, were issued promises to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on December 3, 2019.

The three other people who were initially arrested were questioned and released.

The investigation began in early 2019 and involved members of the Codiac Regional RCMP, the New Brunswick RCMP's West and Southeast Districts, the Fredericton Police Force, and the Woodstock Police Force.
