Lloydminster RCMP remove drugs from the street in sweep

Between July and August 2019, Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section, in partnership with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, RCMP Police Dog Services and Lloydminster Traffic Services, conducted an investigation into local drug trafficking within the City of Lloydminster.

During the course of the investigation, police seized various illegal drugs including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. Lloydminster RCMP have laid 48 charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

"Our detachment will continue to collaborate on investigations in an effort to reduce crime in our communities," says Inspector Lee Brachmann, Officer in Charge, Lloydminster Detachment. "Intelligence sharing with our law enforcement partners and government agencies allowed us to remove harmful drugs off the street."

Fifteen persons have been charged with trafficking of a controlled substances of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine. A search warrant was also executed at a residence in Lloydminster and additional methamphetamine and cocaine was seized.

The following accused have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • A 26-year-old female of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 40-year-old male of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 29-year-old male of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 25-year-old female of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 21-year-old male of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 31-year-old male of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 23-year-old female of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 32-year-old female of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 35-year-old female of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime
  • A 30-year-old male of Lloydminster, possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime
  • A 36-year-old male of Lloydminster, charged with trafficking and proceeds of crime

Four other persons have been charged, including one youth. Warrants have been issued, but names cannot be released at this time.
