Lac La Biche RCMP and EADRCRU operation leads to apprehension of wanted male

On Jan. 31, 2019, the Lac La Biche RCMP and Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) conducted a joint operation to apprehend an elusive male who had been on the run from police for nearly two years. Using an intelligence driven approach, RCMP members identified where the male would be hiding and surrounded a residence in Kikino.

RCMP members entered the residence after obtaining a warrant and located the male who was hiding in a crawl space underneath the house. He was arrested without incident.

A 31-year-old male of Kikino is facing charges for multiple offences, including:

  • Forcible confinement (x4)
  • Assault (x6)
  • Failing to comply with a probation order
  • Uttering threats (x5)
  • Mischief
  • Theft under $5,000

He was held following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court in Lac La Biche on Feb. 11, 2019.
