Kingston youth arrested for assault with a weapon

Kings District RCMP arrested a 17-year-old male youth on December 5, after he assaulted two people and threatened them with a knife.

At about 7:30 a.m. on December 4, the RCMP responded to a call in Kingston where a youth came to the door of a home, grabbed the homeowner, pushed him against a wall, and held a knife to his throat. The youth threatened the homeowner then left the area on foot. Another person who had been in the home when the first assault occurred, met the youth on the street. He held a knife to her throat as well and threatened to hurt her. The youth then left the area. Neither of the two victims was hurt. The two victims and the accused are known to one another.

The RCMP located the youth in a home on George St. a short time later. He was arrested without incident and is facing charges of Uttering Threats (two counts), Assault With a Weapon (two counts), and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He appeared in Kentville Provincial Court on December 4 and was released on conditions. He is scheduled to return to Kentville Provincial Court on January 16, 2020.
