Happy Valley-Goose Bay man arrested for theft from local Co-Op

On November 27, 2019, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP responded to a report of a theft from

the local Co-Op grocery store. During business hours, the suspect entered the store, stole a generator, got in a vehicle and fled the scene.

Based on descriptions of the vehicle, police were able to locate it quickly and conducted a traffic stop. As a result, a 41-year-old man from Happy Valley-Goose Bay was arrested and the stolen generator was recovered.

The man was remanded into custody after police discovered that he already had an existing warrant out for his arrest. He is facing charges of Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, Fail to Comply with Court Order and Fail to Appear.

The man appeared in court November 28, 2019, was released on conditions and will appear in court again at a later date.
