Female succumbs to injuries sustained in collision near Lamont, Alta.

On September 19, 2019 at approximately 6:20 a.m., the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision involving a moose on Hwy 15 near RR 192. Police determined that a west bound car and an east bound SUV both struck a moose that was in the middle of the highway. The driver and lone occupant of the SUV, a 51-year-old female, attempted to take evasive action, resulting in her losing control and ending up in the ditch. She was transported by EMS to an Edmonton Hospital in critical condition. Sadly, the female driver succumbed to her injuries earlier today. The driver, and lone occupant of the car sustained minor injuries. No charges will be laid in relation to this incident.
