Elk Point RCMP Update - investigate after shots fired

The emergency situation in Elk Point has resolved peacefully. Elk Point RCMP have arrested one adult male at the scene with assistance of the Emergency Response Team. There were no injuries during the response. The arrested man will be brought before a justice of the peace in the coming hours.

Elk Point RCMP investigate after shots fired

RCMP resources remain in the town after a complaint of shots fired early this morning.

On October 1, 2019, shortly before 1 a.m., RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a male with a firearm at a residence on 49 Street. Shots had been fired in the area.

Elk Point RCMP with assistance from St. Paul GIS, Police Dog Services, and Emergency Response Team remain in Elk Point in search of the male suspect.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Sufficient police resources remain in place to ensure public safety.

RCMP advise the public not to post police locations to social media.

An update will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.
