Collision in Kings County claims three lives

On Monday, October 15, 2019 at 1:43 p.m., Kings District RCMP, Island EMS, Montague and Murray River Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Routes 315 and Route 24 involving a car and truck. Occupants of both vehicles were pronounced deceased at the scene. Department of Transportation assisted in traffic control as the highways were closed until 10:00 p.m. while a Traffic Reconstructionist and the Provincial Coroner were at the scene.

The investigation is in early stages and will continue.

Deceased from the car are the driver, a 72 year-old woman from Pembroke, PEI, as well as the passenger, a 90 year-old woman from Gaspereaux, PEI. The deceased from the second vehicle, a dump truck which was working in the area, was the driver, a 57 year-old man from Fortune Bridge, PEI.

The RCMP would like to thank Montague and Murray River Fire Department, tow operators, and all persons that assisted at the scene.

Our Thoughts and prayers are with the families facing this tragedy during the Thanksgiving weekend.
