Cole Harbour man arrested for drug trafficking and impaired driving

A Cole Harbour man is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Psilocybin.

On November 30 just after 9 p.m., a member of Halifax District RCMP noticed a parked vehicle running on Sophia Cres. in Cole Harbour.

Two occupants were spotted inside the vehicle, one in the driver's seat and one in the front passenger's seat. Both occupants left the vehicle on foot as police approached. The person who had been in the driver's seat showed signs of impairment and was arrested without incident for Impaired Driving.

Following the arrest, police located Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Psilocybin, cash and drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.

As a result of the incident, an 18-year-old man from Cole Harbour is facing:

  • Three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
  • Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Alcohol
  • Impaired Operation of a Conveyance with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that is equal to or exceeds 80 mg%

The man was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on January 29, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
