Charges laid in connection with shooting incident

A 17-year-old Moncton boy faces a number of charges in connection with an incident during which shots were fired towards a home in Riverview, N.B.

Just after 8 p.m. on October 23, 2019, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a home on Wilson Road. Four people were inside when the shots were fired. No one was injured.

A short time later, police arrested a 17-year-old Moncton teen in connection with the incident.

He appeared before a judge by way of a telephone remand on October 24 and has been charged with the following offences:

  • using a firearm in a careless manner
  • discharching a firearm with intent to endanger someone's life
  • possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • failing to comply with a court order

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 25 at 1:30 p.m. for a bail hearing.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
