Cardston RCMP charge male with drug and firearm offences

On September 18, 2019 Cardston RCMP with assistance of United States Customs and Border Protection Officers responded to a complaint of a suspect trying to enter into the United States of America while in possession of a loaded prohibited pistol and a loaded shotgun.

The investigation revealed that the male suspect was also in possession of pills suspected to be opioids.

A 38-year-old male of Foothills County, has been charged with Controlled Drugs & Substances Act offences and numerous firearms offences, including allegations of breaching a lifetime firearms prohibition order from a previous criminal conviction.

He is scheduled for a bail hearing on September 23, 2019 at Cardston provincial court.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
