On December 19, 2019, Bell Island RCMP arrested an eighteen-year-old female in relation to arson at vacant residences in the community. She appeared in court this morning facing charges of mischief and two counts of arson. She has been released from custody with a next court appearance in February, 2020.
This is the second case of arson to a vacant residence in just over a month. The first fire occurred on November 3, 2019.
The investigation into both fires is continuing.
