On September 28, 2018, at approximately 6:40 p.m., RCMP from Shellbrook, Spiritwood and the North District Relief Unit, along with Leask Fire Department, and EMS from Spiritwood and Blaine Lake, responded to a single vehicle rollover on the Mistawasis First Nation.
There were four occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision. One adult female was declared deceased at the scene. The driver, an adult male, and two other occupants, both adult females, were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Initial investigation has determined that the vehicle was travelling northbound on a grid road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the road, rolling multiple times.
The road was restricted to traffic for some time as an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was on scene gathering evidence. The investigation continues with assistance from the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service.
