RCMP Major Crime Unit North/La Loche RCMP: Sudden death investigation; charges laid

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, at approximately 6:33 a.m., La Loche RCMP were called to reports of an adult male suffering from a suspected gunshot wound outside of a residence in the community. Members attended and a 24 year-old male was located deceased at the scene.

One adult male has since been taken into custody in relation to this incident.

One firearm believed to be involved has been seized.

RCMP Major Crime Unit North and La Loche RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of North Battleford Forensic Identification Section, Meadow Lake Police Dog Service and the Traffic Reconstruction Unit.

Update: The deceased is 24 year-old Lucas Lemaigre of La Loche, SK. 23 year-old Tristin Janvier of La Loche, SK, has been charged with second degree murder (Criminal Code S. 235 (1)) in relation to this incident.
