Man charged in hit and run death of Brady Francis

A 56-year-old man from Saint-Charles, N.B. has been charged in connection with the hit and run death of 22-year-old Brady Francis of Elispogtog First Nation earlier this year.

Maurice Johnson has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving bodily harm or death.

On February 24, 2018, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the RCMP responded to a hit and run on Saint-Charles Sud Road in Saint-Charles where the body of Brady Francis was found on the side of the road. It's believed he was waiting for a drive home when he was struck by a vehicle.

Maurice Johnson is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on July 10, 2018 to enter a plea.
