Kent county man arrested after trying to evade police

A Sainte-Anne-de-Kent man has been charged with multiple offences after driving while prohibited and attempting to evade police.

Richibucto RCMP arrested a man at around 10:00 p.m., on June 12, 2018, but not before he tried to avoid arrest by failing to stop for police, abandoned his vehicle and then took off on foot along an ATV trail in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent.

21-year-old Joel Gray appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on June 13 and was charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon, dangerous driving, evading police, public mischief and driving while prohibited.

Joel Gray has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for June 15 at 1:30 p.m.
