Condolence books for Cst. Francis Deschênes

The RCMP New Brunswick has set up condolence books for the community to sign for Cst. Francis Deschênes with the RCMP in Nova Scotia.

Cst. Deschênes passed away on September 12, 2017, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash on the TransCanada Highway near Memramcook, N.B. He had stopped to provide assistance to a motorist on the side of the highway.

The books have been set up to provide people with an opportunity to pay their respects to Cst. Deschênes. People are invited to leave messages of condolence, which will then be presented to Cst. Deschênes' family.

Condolence books have been set up at the following locations;

· RCMP New Brunswick Headquarters, 1445 Regent St., Fredericton

· Codiac Regional RCMP, 520 Main Street, Moncton

· Bathurst Detachment, 900 Vanier Blvd, Bathurst

· Oromocto Detachment, 4 Doyle Drive, Oromocto

· Sackville Detachment, 31 Main Street, Sackville

Anyone unable to visit any of the locations can send their message of condolence by email to RCMP.Condolences-Condoleances.GRC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

The RCMP wishes to thank the public for their ongoing support and encourages them to offer their respects by signing the condolence books during regular business hours. The books will be available to be signed up to and including the day of the funeral.

Flags on all RCMP buildings and establishments across the country will also be flown at half-mast until sunset of the day of the funeral.
