Travel

The RCMP is responsible for the following:

  • The cadet’s travel costs to the training centre from their home-base. Travel will be preauthorized by the recruiting office by the most economical means, with a maximum of one day of travel time (650 km), unless authorized in advance through the recruiting office;
  • The cadet’s travel costs to return home where his/her household effects are, in the event that the cadet needs to return home before completing the Cadet Training Program.
  • Travel must be pre-approved by staffing

While travelling to Depot, cadets are required to keep all original receipts for transportation, and retain their airline itinerary and extra baggage costs, which will be handed in with the expense claim once they arrive at Depot. If mileage is to be claimed, it will be reimbursed based on rates set by the National Joint Council. Claims for hotel expenses will not be reimbursed, unless authorized by recruiting.

In case of an emergency during your travel to Depot, or if your travel has been delayed for any reason, please contact the Depot Guardroom at 306-780-5777 to advise the Academy of your situation. Someone is available to take your call at all times.
