Wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for Dangerous Driving Causing Death

On March 18 2005, while driving his vehicle BATALHA struck Ben Kozak, a 42 year old who was walking his dog across Carling Avenue in Ottawa. Both Kozak and his dog were killed. Police arrested BATALHA and charged him with impaired driving and dangerous driving causing death.

BATALHA has yet to face justice after he skipped the first day of his trial. Police believe the former Gatineau, Quebec man fled to Brazil where he has citizenship. BATALHA could have also fled to New York City where he once lived with a family member.
