Programs & Services

Our mandate is multi-faceted. We prevent and investigate crime, maintain order, enforce laws on matters as diverse as health and the protection of government revenues, contribute to national security, ensure the safety of state officials, visiting dignitaries and foreign missions, and provide vital operational support services to other police and law enforcement agencies.

We support this mandate by providing the following programs and services:

Victims Services

Saskatchewan RCMP work with Saskatchewan Justice to provide services to victims of crime . These services include crisis intervention, compensation and victim/witness services. Most areas of the province are covered by police-affiliated victims services programs.

Crime Stoppers

Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers is a community program that successfully combines the efforts of the Public, the Media and the Police to solve crime in our communities.

Safety Programs

The RCMP is pleased to work with the community to deliver programs that teach residents about personal safety . There are programs aimed at both children and adults.

Traffic Services

RCMP Traffic Services Enforcement in Saskatchewan is dedicated to saving lives and reducing injuries. Members work to improve public safety on our highways through the enforcement of traffic laws, public education, roadside screening, and the use of radar equipment. Specially trained collision investigators investigate, analyze and reconstruct serious motor vehicle accidents ensuring that motor vehicle collisions are thoroughly investigated.

Auxiliary Policing

Auxiliary Policing is a way for community members to become actively involved in policing. The program recruits and trains volunteers to work in their own communities alongside regular RCMP members.

Police Service Dogs

RCMP Service Dogs go through 80 days of rigorous training which includes tracking of suspects, searching for missing persons, searching for crime scene evidence, narcotic detection and criminal apprehension.

Drug Awareness

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Drug Awareness Service is committed to making communities safe and healthy by reducing substance abuse and its related problems.

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)

D.A.R.E. is a comprehensive prevention education program designed to equip school children with skills to recognize and resist social pressures to experiment with tobacco, alcohol, other drugs and violence.
