Organized Crime

We are dedicated to providing Saskatchewan people with protection against organized crime by reducing the supply of and demand for illicit drugs; smuggling; contraband distribution and economic crime. Continuing to enhance the quality of our criminal intelligence and information is also a priority. We use several key strategies to combat organized crime. One set of strategies focuses on illegal activities (illicit commodities and services). The second set focuses on people (criminals and their organizations).

Youth

Youth are the future of Canada as well as the potential for tomorrow's crime. Crime prevention that begins at an early age and focuses on root causes is an investment in the long-term wellness of our communities. Our youth strategy will continue to encourage the development of partnerships with communities directed at pro-active education and positive role-modeling for our youth.

Technology

We use technology to support our work throughout the province. Technology enables us to do our jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible while still remaining highly visible in the communities we serve. The use of portable computer systems, cellular modems, radios and satellite phones provide connectivity to our members in all corners of the province. The innovative use of technology enables us to efficiently capture, retrieve, and analyze information. Our technology strategy will continue to see the use and implementation of hardware, software, training, and electronic reporting methods to further enhance our ability to successfully prosecute crime.

Integrated Policing

Integrated Policing provides a model for how we can work effectively with our various partners to maximize the use of our respective resources and mandates. Building on the principle of intelligence-led policing, this approach focuses on developing partnerships involving common threat assessments, shared priorities and a coordinated response. It also encourages consulting with partners to close potential gaps and maximize opportunities for intelligence sharing, joint planning and the ability to share systems and equipment.

Peacekeeping

We will continue to play an important role in enhancing human security around the world through our civilian police assistance. Our participation promotes peace and stability to war-torn communities and builds democratic institutions. Participation enhances our own knowledge and appreciation of diverse cultures now living in Saskatchewan. "F" Division members have participated in peace keeping missions in Bosnia, Kosovo, Haiti and Namibia.
