About F Division

Public Order Team in Formation"F" Division's Public Order Team prepares for G8

In Saskatchewan "F" Division provides Provincial, First Nation, Municipal and Federal policing through 82 host or stand alone detachments with more than 1,200 members.

Our mandate is multi-faceted. We prevent and investigate crime involving federal, provincial and municipal statutes; maintain order; enforce laws on matters as diverse as health and the protection of government revenues; contribute to national security; ensure the safety of state officials, visiting dignitaries and foreign missions; and provide vital operational support services to other police and law enforcement agencies.

"F" Division has a strong commitment to the communities we serve. Detachment Commanders reside in the community in which the detachment is located. All regular members at a host detachment reside within the detachment boundaries or zoned areas in the case of community detachments. Our members are involved in a variety of community activities ranging from involvement with crime prevention programs to school liaison and education programs.

In our continuing efforts to provide enhanced policing services for the citizens of Saskatchewan, "F" Division has made changes to our operational structure throughout the province. We have amalgamated our six Operational Communications Centers into one Divisional Operational Communications Center. Six subdivisions within the province are now two districts - North and South District. The movement from 116 detachments to 82 host or stand alone detachments has provided increased patrolling, flexibility, and response time. These changes enable us to more efficiently share resources, make effective use of human resources and have less time dedicated to administration.
