International Policing

Statistics have shown that approximately 80 per cent of RCMP federal investigations have connections extending beyond this country's borders. Canada's renewed commitment on the world stage means it cannot afford to be introspective. This goes for the RCMP as well.

The RCMP's commitment to international policing has been extremely successful on a global scale. And within the agency, international cooperation is a key management strategy, which means it is entrenched in our daily operations.

While international cooperation is a key driver for all of the RCMP's strategic priorities, the International Policing Sector comprises five branches: International Operations, International Peace Operations, Interpol Ottawa, International Travel and Visits, and Strategic and Policy Development.
