Fraud Prevention Month: Increase in Complaints in the Region

Chicoutimi, March 17, 2011 – Recently, police authority in the Saguenay–Lac-St-Jean region noted an increase in mass marketing fraud related complaints. The role of law enforcement agencies includes raising awareness about this scourge in an effort to prevent this type of crime from victimizing more people.

As part of Fraud Prevention Month, federal, provincial and municipal police agencies invite the media to attend a press conference at the RCMP Chicoutimi Detachment. The objective is to explain the various frauds observed in the region and inform the public of the prevention initiatives to protect the interests of citizens.
