Montréal, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 – A man who had been on the run for the last three years following major Operation Colisée was arrested on Monday by the RCMP. Carlos Narvaez Orellana, 31, finally surrendered to police and will now face justice for a number of drug and gangsterism related charges.
The charges against Carlos Narvaez Orellana include conspiracy to import into Canada 1,300 kg of cocaine via containers for the benefit of a criminal organization. He had been actively pursued by the police since November 2006. He appeared in court in Montréal on Monday afternoon to answer the charges against him. He remains in custody pending proceedings.
Operation Colisée culminated in approximately 1,000 charges filed against 90 individuals, including Nicolo Rizzuto Sr., for crimes committed between 2003 and 2006.
Three suspects are still wanted in this case. They are Giuseppe De Vito, Ralph Duval and Angelo Follano. Any information leading to the arrest of these three fugitives can be reported to 1-800-659-4264 (Info-Gang) or 1-800-771-5401.
