The motor vehicle collision on October 6, 2010 in Mt. Albion which resulted in an off-duty RCMP officer from L Division, Prince Edward Island, being transported to hospital after sustaining serious injuries has led to charges being laid against Betty Lou McQuillan, age 40, of Montague.
Ms. McQuillan was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm as well as driving with a blood alcohol count of over .08 causing bodily harm and remanded into custody until her next court appearance, Tuesday, October 12, 2010.
The victim, Constable Russ Stewart, age 50, is a 25-year veteran and member of L Division RCMP, based out of Headquarters in Charlottetown, and remains in critical condition at QEH.
