Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island – August 23, 2010 - The Toronto Blue Jays-Boston Red Sox baseball game held this past Sunday, August 22, had a distinctly Canadian feel as one RCMP member from Prince Edward Island and three from New Brunswick served as the "Colour Guard" during the pre-game ceremony in Boston.Staff Sergeant Jamie George of Prince Edward Island, was joined by Corporal Jean-Marc Paré, Corporal Greg Lupson and Constable Ian Grassman from New Brunswick as they carried the Canadian and American flags prior to the game.Red Sox management made the request in July about serving as the Colour Guard for the game and the members took the opportunity to volunteer their time and covered their own expenses to take part in the event. "We had a great time representing our country at the game and the atmosphere was fantastic," said Staff Sergeant George. "The energy in the Fenway Park is famous and we and were warmly received by fans and all those involved in the game. All in all, it was a great experience for the four of us."
