OTTAWA - February 28, 2011 - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is pleased to invite the media and the public to an open house at the RCMP Musical Ride Stables located on the grounds of the Canadian Police College.
When: Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What: Held annually, the open house raises food and funds for the Ottawa Food Bank and provides an opportunity to tour the home of the world famous Musical Ride. Visitors will be able to see a number of demonstrations and displays, as well as tour the Stables and the Musical Ride Visitor’s Centre. Door prizes of RCMP memorabilia will be given away throughout the day.
Where: The Musical Ride Stables are located on the ground of the Canadian Police College located at the end of St. Laurent Blvd. North and Sandridge Rd. The grounds can also be accessed off the Aviation Parkway. Free parking is available on site.
Admission: Admission is free but visitors are asked to bring a monetary or non-perishable food donation for the Ottawa Food Bank.

• Demonstrations and displays by the Ontario Provincial Police, police dogs, the Explosives Disposal and Technology Branch, Child Find, and more
• Carriage Rides (weather permitting)
• An obstacle course hosted by the Canadian Forces
• Photo opportunities with mounted riders and Safety Bear, the RCMP mascot
• Stable tours
Photo opportunities for the media: Full access to the Musical Ride Visitor’s Centre and stables. Other photo opportunities can be arranged upon request.
