OTTAWA – March 23, 2010 - As a result of information obtained during the course of their 8-month long investigation dubbed project A-Wire, the “A” Division RCMP Drug Section, with the assistance of the CBSA and the OPS, initiated project A-Wire-2.
This 4-month long investigation lead them to conclude that several more players were also part of this drug trafficking network.
Investigators executed several search warrants in Ottawa and Dunrobin, Ontario which resulted in the seizure of substantial amounts of cocaine, hashish, marihuana, firearms, ammunitions and prohibited weapons such as tasers and stun guns.
Six more individuals have now been arrested, charged and appeared before a Provincial Judge or Justice of Peace to face over 50 combined charges for drugs, weapons, and other Criminal Code offenses..
