On Friday April 30th, 2010 the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement hosted the 12th annual awards ceremony in Mississauga, Ontario. The winners of the major awards were:

  • Award of Valour – Constable Tara Copeland and Constable Amanda Reid, Hamilton Police Service
  • Excellence in Performance – Detective Tracy Acres, Ontario Provincial Police, Napenee Crime Unit
  • Leadership – Staff Sergeant Carol Pacey, Hamilton Police Service

  • Mentoring – Sergeant Marie Claude Arsenault, RCMP Ottawa and Detective Janelle Blackadar, Toronto Police Service

  • Civilian Award of Achievement – Sandra Brown, Toronto Police Service

  • Community Service – Constable Louise Lafleur and Bev Mulligan, Ottawa Police Service

  • Team Endeavours – York Regional Police – Cst. Neil Dickson, Cst. Leanne Van Iderstine, Cst. Meridith Woodland, Cst. Christyn Dicke, Cst. Todd Woods and Cst. Guiseppe Traccitto

  • Law Enforcement Professional of the Year – Sergeant Ann Koenig, RCMP, GTA Commercial Crime Section

  • Heritage Award for Lifetime Achievement – Brenda Glass – Staff Sergeant (Ret’d), Halton Regional Police Service

OWLE also recognizes civilian members and officers who have dedicated 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service. This year OWLE recognized 109 recipients including members from: Barrie Police Service, Cornwall Community Police Service, Greater Sudbury Police, Halton Regional Police, Hamilton Police, London Police, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Niagara Regional Police, Nishnawbi-Aski Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Ottawa Police, Peel Regional Police, Oxford Community Police, Toronto Police Service, Waterloo Regional Police Service and York Regional Police.
