Drug Awareness

The RCMP Drug Awareness Section is committed to making communities safe and healthy by reducing substance abuse and its related problems. Our efforts in Nova Scotia over the past decade have proven very successful and our programs continue to be in high demand. Substance abuse, however, remains a significant problem among youth and at-risk adults. Recognizing this, the RCMP remains vigilant in providing effective and timely education and outreach.

As part of this initiative, Nova Scotia's Drug Awareness Service provides programs targeted at a variety of groups (particularly youth) that focus on the prevention of substance abuse. Early intervention, education and awareness are key elements in combating the use of illegal substances.

Information on programs and initiatives available in Nova Scotia can be found below. We invite those interested in programs offered in their town to contact their local detachment for details.
