Community Assistance

Mandate

Community Assistance is a program designed to help and support people victimized by crime and other traumatic events. The program provides information, referrals and support to victims with the assistance of community volunteers trained by and working under the direction of the RCMP.

Services

Services are provided free of charge by trained volunteers working under the direction of the RCMP. All information is kept strictly confidential.

Services include:
  • Information on social, legal, medical and mental health services*
  • Personal safety and home security information
  • Liaison with police, agencies and organizations in communities
  • Emotional support
  • Assistance with referrals to other agencies that may be helpful
  • General information regarding the Justice process
