Aboriginal Youth Training Program

This program provides Aboriginal young people with 17 weeks of summer employment, including three weeks training at Regina, Saskatchewan. Upon their return to a detachment near their home, students work under the direct supervision and guidance of a regular member of the RCMP for the remainder of their employment. The major funding partner has been the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. The number of candidates each year is dependent on the amount of funding that can be raised.
