RCMP arrest male for armed robbery in Lower Sackville, Halifax Regional Municipality, N.S.

Last evening, RCMP in Lower Sackville arrested an 18-year-old male for an armed robbery.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at a Needs convenience store on Beaver Bank Road. The suspect entered the store, asked for a package of cigarettes, then showed the clerk that he had firearm. The suspect then fled the store with the cigarettes.

Halifax Regional Police K9 Service assisted and officers located the suspect a short distance away. A pellet gun and an airsoft gun were recovered and seized in relation to this offence. The 18-year-old male from Middle Sackville was arrested and held in police custody to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today on the following charges:
 

  • Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Robbery with a Firearm
