Members of the Middleton RCMP Detachment have charged a 29-year-old Middleton woman on multiple offences.
At approximately 4 p.m. on February 14th, 2012, RCMP responded to a 911 call from a telephone booth on Commercial Street, Middleton. Once on scene, the Member observed a woman at the telephone booth where the call had been made. While responding to the 911 call, the Member observed a false fire alarm going off at the Middleton town hall.
Upon further investigation, the woman observed at the telephone booth was charged with one count of Setting Off False Fire Alarm, one count of Using a Telephone to Call 911 in a Frivolous Manner and three counts of Attempted Mischief.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jennifer Durling of Middleton appeared in Annapolis Royal Court today and has been remanded into custody until February 27th, 2012, where she will reappear in court for a Show Cause hearing.
