Reporting a Crime in Nova Scotia

The RCMP does not accept reports of crime via email.

To report a crime, or for police assistance, contact your local RCMP detachment or the police service of jurisdiction in your area.

You can provide anonymous and secure tips by calling Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES” (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.

9-1-1 should only be used in case of emergencies where an immediate response is required.

  • a fraud/scam:
  • online sexual exploitation of children:
    • contact your local RCMP detachment or the police service of jurisdiction in your area who will then connect with the RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE)
    • visit Cybertip.ca -  Canada’s national tipline for reporting the online sexual exploitation of children.
  • information regarding terrorism, criminal extremism or suspicious activities which could pose a threat to national safety and security:
