Patrol Vessel Murray

The patrol vessel MURRAY is a Commissioner Class Aluminum Fast Patrol Catamaran. It measures 21.62 metres in length and has a cruising speed of 25 knots. The MURRAY was built in Meteghan River, N.S., by A.F. Theriault & Sons Ltd. and was launched on January 6, 2005. It is named after former RCMP Commissioner Phil Murray. Commissioner Murray held the RCMP’s highest post from 1994 until his retirement in 2000, when he was succeeded by Commissioner Zaccardelli.

It supports a variety of coastal operations in the Atlantic Region from its base in Burin, Newfoundland and is used to work with the RCMP’s various enforcement and security partners.
