The Atlantic Region Integrated Technological Crime Unit (ARITCU)

This regional unit was formed as a response to the growing demand for computer related investigations and the need to develop expertise in a number of computer related areas. ARITCU's primary responsibility is the investigation of pure computer related offences and computer investigations involving government departments. It is also responsible for providing assistance to detachment investigations of computer aided crimes (threatening emails, frauds), providing assistance to other government agencies, as well as, providing a computer safety component. This Unit benefits policing by increasing the availability of equipment and the knowledge/ expertise of its investigators, as well as, maintaining pace with changing computer technologies through training and research.
