In conjunction with the Canadian Securities Administrators, the Securities Commissions across the country have worked together to create an online fake fraud campaign to educate people on the ease of online scams. There are advertisements on Google, Facebook and other websites across the country, email blasts as well as social media. In addition to this, each jurisdiction has been tweeting about this great opportunity and asking people to hit the Invest Now button.
The website www.bluehedge.ca takes people on an educational journey about online scams. There are tips, hints and what to do if you are scammed. We have created Blue Hedge to look as real as possible including the website, ads, Facebook page and a twitter account. We also have three bloggers who will be discussing this fake fraud campaign this month. However, when you go to Invest Now your true education begins.
This is not an actual scam but rather an educational tool.
