Update on injured RCMP member in Afghanistan

OTTAWA - Thursday August 20, 2009 - Sgt. Brian Kelly, the RCMP member who was injured on August 15 in Kabul, Afghanistan, is currently in Germany in stable condition where he is receiving further medical attention prior to returning home to Canada.

A 29-year veteran of the Force, Sgt. Kelly is based out of the RCMP Headquarters in Ottawa. He began a nine-month mission in Afghanistan in June 2009 and was stationed in Kabul.
